The favourable environmental conditions made it possible a natural selection that gave birth to a variety and diversity of forms difficult to find in other ecosystem.

The rosy seagull, the common seagull, the real seagull, the saffron, the cormorant, the tuffetto, the little grebe, the major seagull, the volpoca, the granary goose, the gossipy, the occhione, the Pantana, the Avocet, the Piro Piro, the Lapwing, the Curlew, the real Pest, the Coot, the Moorhen, the Crane, the Ciuffreda, the Spatola, etc... but indisputably the uncontested sovreign of the place is the pink Flamingo.

The coast road Manfredonia - Margherita di Savoia thet runs along the biggest saltpans of Europe, extends over an area of about 4000 hectares, the reserve of the State.

A humid area where it is possible to observe many species of waterfowls that attend these rich and marshy places, to feed and reproduce.
